BIKING BIRDER I June 27th 2010 Friends, Red Arrows and St Bees RSPB Reserve

 


June 27th 2010

And so to St Bees RSPB Reserve to meet up with a fantastic friend, Phil Andrews and his wife, Claire.






After some birdwatching with views from the high red sandstone cliffs, with memories of my first ever views of Gannets seen from here back in 1976; a sighting of diving Gannets had me cheering as if Aston Villa had won the FA Cup! I headed off to see the closest of friends from those distant college days of the Seventies, Pauline Eppy and her husband, Paul.

The Red Arrows made an appearance as I reached Whitehaven.
