BIKING BIRDER I May 7th 2010 Into the face of a Gale - The North Wales coastal Cycle Path

7th May 2010

Early morning, 5:00 a.m. I walked around the RSPB Conwy reserve again and saw fifty eight species of bird before leaving to take the coastal cycle path all the way to Gronant along the North Wales coast.

The cycling was into a strong north-easterly gale the whole way, which, although tough, the challenge proved enjoyable.

Not much to say as it was slog of a cycle ride but on arriving at Gronant, Little Terns [192] were on view as soon as I got down to the shoreline through the marram grass and sand dunes.

Quite exhausted by the day's cycling, I camped amongst the sand dunes and was soon asleep.
