Bob in Dacron Frank Zappa
The lovely total blue sky mornings I had experienced for the last few days continued as I cycled north. The aim for the day was to visit the excellent and thrilling Gigrin farm. Famous for the farm having daily Red Kite feeding sessions, I arrived and took up a position in one of the carefully arranged bird hides at the base of a large field.
A charge to enter the hide, those who wanted more elevation could pay an extra fee in order to view the soon to be happening masses of red Kites from a higher hide.
I was happy with my view and excited as I awaited the arrival of the tractor and its trailer laden with meaty morsels.
Such a shame that no photos of the ensuing carnage of hundreds of diving kites, with Buzzards and Ravens taking their share of the offered meat as well, were possible. Charging camera batteries was a tad difficult from a tent!
