Summary  5 hour seawatch didn't give any new birds.


Location : Spurn Head Seawatching Hide,

Weather : Cloudy, occ. shower offshore, fresh NW 20mph +, 12C

Time : 6.45 am to 11.45 am.

Details :

Day starts with seawatch from Spurn Head seawatching hide.

My notes list –

Arctic Skua  At least 5 individuals blogging


Skua sp.  One heading south, distant

Red-throated Diver      34 south, 7 north

Gannet    104 south

Common Tern     small numbers seen heading north

Sandwich Tern    4 heading north

Guillemot    1

Little Gull   3 heading north

Auk sp.   6

Teal   7

Wigeon   2

Evening Seawatch

Weather : shower then clear skies until dusk. Fresh NW still.

Time : 5.30 to 6.30 am

Details :

Very few birds passing – very few!

Red-throated Diver 4 heading south and another almost on the beach.

Arctic Skua – a pale phase adult passing south and 20 minutes later, passing north.
