Miss You Rolling Stones
Back to Cardiff bay in the morning, late due to two punctures. The tiniest piece of grit was the culprit. I finally got to an area to search for the Bonaparte's Gull again and settled down on a concrete bench behind an apartment block wall trying to shelter from the strong westerly gale. Out in the bay there were hundreds of gulls being tossed about by the wind, mostly Black-headed Gulls. At twenty five minutes past three in the afternoon I eventually, thankfully found the rare one. I had had to work hard for that one with it being sunny but very cold and with a strong west wind. Bonaparte's Gull UTB [167].
The rest of the day was spent cycling into the strong wind to try to get as close to Kenfig as possible before dark. I met a lovely couple, Chris and Karen from Nottingham, at a prehistoric burial chamber. I saw another such chamber as well a couple of miles later and settled down in the tent along a footpath about three miles before Bridgend.
